Welcome to My Corner of the World
My name is Susie Spades. I am a photographer, journalist, barefoot wanderer, and full-time nomad who has chosen to live life beyond the narrow expectations most people are taught to follow. This website is where I share that life in its truest, most honest form.
I move through the world barefoot, and most often nude, living as a committed lifestyle naturist and embracing a philosophy of freedom, simplicity, and authenticity. These choices are not experiments or temporary phases—they are the foundation of who I am. My feet touch the earth directly every day, and my life unfolds in open landscapes far from the noise of modern conformity.
Much of my time is spent traveling across the wide and varied landscapes of the United States in my motorhome, living off-grid and immersing myself in the quiet beauty of forests, deserts, mountains, and open plains. These places shape the rhythm of my life and often become the backdrop for my work.
Photography is one of the ways I translate that experience. Through my lens, I capture the quiet details that many people pass by without noticing: the shifting light of sunrise across a desert valley, the texture of weathered architecture, the movement of people in city streets, and the endless sweep of stars across a dark sky. Every photograph is a fragment of a story. I am drawn to moments that feel honest, unguarded, and real.
Alongside photography, I write and speak openly about the subjects that have shaped my own path. Barefoot living, lifestyle naturism, personal freedom, human desire, and the psychology of authenticity appear throughout my work. My academic background in psychology and sexology informs much of that exploration, but my perspective is always grounded in lived experience.
